Shoes

Some of the colourways right now are minging - come to think of it, haven’t seen any decent ones in the last year. The shoe itself though is great.

Dunks and Air Max have always been popular though haven’t they? It’s not like these big chunky shoes that used to be all the rage then disappeared and came back.

I (before covid) work in the same office as ASOS, you should see the fucking size of the shoes that all those fashion victims wear. They’re enormous. Not skate shoes just huge chunky Filas and stuff. With weird growths and tumours growing on them. I don’t get it at all, most of those people weren’t even around when big shoes were fashionable, so I don’t think it’s all nostalgia.

I have a pair of Dunk low (the band aid ones) and some high (black, dark grey swoosh, gum sole), but they are probably about 15 years old. I just wear them now and again, but they’ve probably lasted because I’ve not worn them much.

Vans even make a Balenciaga rip now. Full circle. Sort of.

These es ones seem to be just Kelly Hart just saying “we should bring back the ___ that’d be sick” and they do. I bet there is more call for it over there though, we’re not a good gauge over here.

The only thing is it’s not just the older skaters that wear this stuff, many brands that hark back to an bygone era, it’s not like Vans have an ultra modern image now is it.

To me I’d rather see stuff brought back that could still suit the times without looking like too much of an embarrassing throwback.

Yes all that shit! What the fuck is that? If I’m wearing something like that it better have rockets or helicopter attachments or something. And a puke-protector in case I accidentally look down at them.

Yes.

Well, part MAS part Mumsnet.

Mornington Crescent?

Yep

I used to work on the floor with Y&R on it. 3rd? This was years ago though, early 2000s.

SO many fit birds there it was actually ridiculous.

Out the back where there’s a bump to bar I dragged a photographer to shoot an ollie but couldn’t even bring myself to try it. Think this was about 2002. Sorry Richie. About 3 years later I think someone kickflipped it.

Just stared it down in some paint covered jeans instead yeah?

I dunno, the Quattro looks pretty damn good to meCS_-quattro-shoe-2

Edit: Replied to the wrong comment, but you get my drift…

Is that new? They seem to be phasing out the Swift, which is one of my recent favourites.

That’s not a bad looking shoe but I thought that about the team shoe whatever that was called and it was a brick.

The Sword was the better and more popular model than the Quattro if memory serves but I do like that new version in white:

Yeah, they’re out soon. I’ve noticed that with the Swift, less colours and less stock.
I managed to get a black/gum pair for fairly cheaply last month.

Swifts are excellent. Zero wear in required.

I bought a pair of Swift 1.5 after so many recommendations here, but they gave me gnarly blisters on the side of my toes!! Back to the Accel Slims!

Not having hobbit feet is a good advantage to have.
