I’ve only worn half cabs for years but am considering buying some rowans. They look pretty comparable.
Can I get away with it or is it a terrible idea to switch shoes just in time for a weekend skate trip to Spain?
I switch shoes, setups, trucks, all the time and I have forgotten where to position my feet for pretty much every trick including ollies.

I’m bad with changing out gear use it all till there’s nothing left then replace and usually stick to the same setups
The regret if they are unskateable could be immense. Stick with old faithful for now IMO
