‘’ Hard to put 25 years into words or a paragraph. We want to take this moment to THANK EVERYONE that rode the Flare, held the Flare, waved the Flare, and shared the Flare What a run with the best humans, wouldn’t have done it any other way.
Fully Flared and that mid-late 00s era of Lakai is entwined in my memories of University, so there’s a certain bitter sweetness is seeing them come to an end. It’s just a company that makes shoes at the end of the day, but I associate them with a great time in my life.
I really liked the Mariano XLK’s, light and slim cup sole. Skated well. Shame to see them go but not bought any for years and gave my last pair away new and unworn.
I always remember those early adds around the same time that Modus came out. Felt like a really good time in skating, my skating was probably at its peak then too. But recency the only Lakai shoes I’ve even come close to buying were those Theories colab Newports.
Nearly posted that until it became clear he thought they were good, which is blatantly wrong. I had to wear Half Cabs for two days for a thing, and after two days of walking and standing, both pinkie toes were bleeding. Still look cool as fuck on certain people in the '90s.
That’s completely up to your foot shape though, no?
Some feet just don’t get on with certain lasts. Like I can’t even bear to have my feet in any Nike Reacts or Adidas forum as they’re so uncomfortable. I love half cabs!
