Quite like these:
Silver shoes always remind me of those adidas ones with the calculator in the tongue.
I got these last November for chilling in, maybe I’m ahead of the curve… Or maybe I just like dressing like R2D2.
This silver shoe talk unlocked a memory. There was a point in time when townies were wearing Troop high tops, like these.
I remember seeing a guy skating in a pair of Nike Force highs that he had attached some trinkets like bottle caps to, stretched the tongues up so that they were way oversized, kind of like rudimentary shin pads, and he had then completely spray painted them silver. He used a marker to add logos that looked just like the Troop logo only it read ‘Poop’ instead. Tickled me at the time.
Ahh fuck, I totally had them.
Big medallion on the front the lot. I got totally roasted at school.
Could see me coming a mile off.
I’ve just finished off a pair of NB 600 tonight. They skated well and they felt good on my feet once broken in. Unfortunately I rolled my ankle early January in them when they were still pretty new. I’ve skated them about 7 weeks (3 sessions per week) total. They’ve felt off for about a week now, mainly the toe bagging out and tonight the upper began to separate from the sole and the flick had pretty much gone. The laces untied themselves at least once per session which pissed me off. Sole lasted ok, but would be through if I skated them much longer.
Would skate another pair but couldn’t pay £90 knowing I’d blow them out in under 3 months.
Rolled my ankle enough times actually using them for badminton to never try them on a board but do like the look.
I’d say this is better than most of the skate shoes I see these days. The toe on them is particularly dope.
I think they look like they could be comfortable, but the colours make it seem like something my father in law would wear.
Could easily pass as Clark’s
That’s shocking
