Shoes

What you’ve said makes sense though. People have bad taste

Haha fucking hell, not round here they aren’t and I see loads of them. They have massive shelf space in sports direct.

I had a pair of On for running when they just came out, they were brilliant and lasted longer than any other pair I’ve had. So got another pair and hated them.

I agree with you but this is some heavy shit for the shoe thread!

A client gifted me a pair of these and I gave them straight to my twin sister before I realised they were worth £500

Oops

Well if you check the poo chart from the last 12 months against your crypto wallet you can extrapolate that life’s good.

Same! tried them, they sounded shit, felt like Craaaiiig Daaavid and punted them into CEX for retail benjis.

Have you seen some of Nike’s recent models? They’re even uglier these days.

Yeah of course. All shoe brands have stinkers though

ON and Hoka whole catalogue and aesthetic is stinking though

I’ve seen some ON’s that look ok but some stinkers too, they also seem to be trainer of choice for many a fleece wearing finance bro so that’s not exactly a plus point. Hoka’s can look acceptable in very small sizes but that’s as positive as I can be.

Nike just seem to be ruining things quite nicely for themselves; countless horrible hybrid models, 95’s for £180, lots of weird Jordan’s and they’ll only do limited runs of air max BW’s for example. Can’t remember the last good football boot they made either.

Been trying to find a pic of some old DC chillers I had in 01, but could never see them in any of the old catalogs. Finally came across them today. The DC Dash. I picked them up in Sydney as I don’t remember anywhere in the UK having them at the time. I remember turning up to freshers week thinking they were so ill, only to find that they were quite good at repelling women, so I switched them out for some Wallabies. Good times.

Bought some Nike runners and regret it now, they just feel a bit cheap and shit compared to the usual Asics.

I had some DC Danny Way Omen’s from around then that Im surprised I could walk in let alone skate in…

Oh yeah, they were moon boots. It was only when I started to hang out with non-skaters that I realised that they were so ridiculous.

Long story short…we’re going to do a loop of the Welsh driving roads inc Evo triangle etc. in the mid-00’s. S2K, mk5 GTi, Mini Cooper S and me in my DC2. I had Koston 3’s on - “how the fuck are you going to drive in them!”:face_with_peeking_eye:

Sounds about right, I’ve always found the width of Asics to be really good as well.

I only ever had one pair of DC and it was the ltd edition ‘Obey’ Dash. Stiffest shoes I ever put on my feet, like they were made of layers of reinforced cardboard. No flex. Pain pain pain. Nice box though.

It was that foam looking bit, looked like it should be flexible but was stiff as fuck. And the toe box was like you were wearing steal toe caps. Still, seemed quite acceptable at the time.

I loved DCs back around 97/98, had a pair that lasted ages, don’t remember the name of them. They were great. Skip to about 10 years ago and I bought a pair of DCs, lasted 3 months before I noticed pain in my Achilles the whole heel support in both shoes, for want of a better word, had shattered. Last DCs I paid money for
