I think the thing is with Andor is that if you take away all the Star Wars elements, it would still be a great espionage thriller.

That was the thing for me, not a criticism as such because I really liked it but just as its own thing. Like it was good in spite of it being Star Wars rather than because of it.

Best episode by far but still not very good.
I feel like they had a two episode story and streteched it to 8 eps.
I’ve decided to go back and rewatch Andor.
I remember liking it but also being a bit underwhelmed by it at the time and not liking the pacing of it.
I can’t have been in the right frame of mind back when it was released because it’s absolutely brilliant!

I saw a clip with Gareth Edwards the other day discussing the relationship he has with his editor and the creative decisions they made during THAT Vader scene in Rogue One. It prompted me to think about Andor.

I rewatched Rouge One (great) on Friday and decided to continue with the OG films. I thought I was done with Star Wars after a decade of mostly bullshit, but it’s been so long since I saw the original trilogy that I’d apparently forgotten just how good they are.
Currently watching Empire, which slaps, but all the Dagobah stuff has been completely ruined for me by the ‘seagulls stop it now’ video
