SPOILER THREAD: Star Wars

Just spent a week with a guy called Aiden. Called him Hayden a lot just for a laugh.
Turns out, its fucked me up.

Hayden Christensen. D’oh. Not Aiden.

They’ve moved the premier from Wednesday May 25th to Friday 27th… Boooo! But we’ll get two episodes dropping on the night to make up for it! Yay!!! Talk about tweaking it up until the last minute!?

I’m hoping they’ve been taking the extra time to fix the grand inquisitor.

Fucksake. The missus’s birthday too.
Highly doubt watching a star war is top of her priorities that day.
In fact just remembered we’re going camping.
Fuuuuck.

I’d be very happy with that

Damn, unlucky @judithpriest! You’d better avoid this place for a few days to be safe of spoilers.

Wait wait, she’s going to work that day and we’re not camping till the evening.
We good lads.

The first thing my daughter said to me today was, ‘May the 4th be with you!’ - she knows me to well. Second Kenobi trailer… as if Star Wars was going to let the day pass without dropping something!

Definitely feeling that one. Hope this series has better pacing than the glacial Book of Boba Fett.

Thought this was pretty cool - Barry Norman’s Film 77 review of Star Wars. Think he alluded to a 7-8 month gap between its release in the US and in the UK? Mad if so.

Yeah, with it being before digital and being on film and it was a small release initially, not expected to be that successful, they’d have been only so many copies to go around America first, then the rest of the world. Seems so crazy now.

It’s only in the last 10-15 years that this is no longer a thing isn’t it? I remember video games having different release dates for US, Japan, UK, EU, Asia and Oceania markets in the N64/PS and PS2/GameCube/Xbox eras.

I saw that too, and thought it was great to see.

YouTube has since suggested I might like Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill plugging Empire on Blue Peter…

…and they were right.

At 3:57 they mention prequels, early Darth & Obi Wan and a 6 year old Luke.

(Also, maybe one for the older viewers, 1980’s Sarah Greene.)

I’ve just seen another trailer for kenobi and I’m getting a hunch that they will try to make vader a redeemable character somehow, not as naughty as the new sith characters. I hope the script writers aren’t that predictable.

Do you have a link?

I’m trying to stay away from spoilers but from everything I’ve heard, or what little I’ve heard. We are going to get a Vader that is more badass than the last scene in Rouge One… Still angry and tortured about losing Padmé and blaming Obi-Wan for that, as well as being in the suit now.

Only the people involved in the making of it, truly know what we’ll be getting… anyone else is mostly using guess work and clickbait.

I saw quite a good snippet with Lars talking to Old Ben and the putdown was pretty solid.
Basically, Obi Wan wanting to take Luke to train him and saying he needs it and Lars responding with “Yeah, because it went so well with Anakin”

Ouch.

Does Obi Wan actually know that Anakin survived and is Vader?
Maybe thats a thing.

Pretty excited, tbh.
It’s my birthday Friday, too. Can’t wait for to get back from seeing family to watch it. ha ha.

Iirc, he learns that Anakin survived while he is having a drink in the Mos Eisley, cantina in the comics. When a group of people are talking about a new Sith Lord called Darth Vader, The Emperor had given him his Sith name (Darth Vader) before the duel on Mustafar. Vader had been hidden away for a bit while he learnt to use his suit and strengthen up again with the darkside, which had lead Obi-Wan to believe he was dead until hearing this group talking about him. This is not canon anymore (since Disney bought it) but now part of legends…

I wonder how terrible Hayden Christensen’s acting is going to be?
