SPOILER THREAD: Star Wars

Finished both. Really happy so far. Young lady is great, despite the age issue haha.

Now onto stranger things which I fell asleep watching last night

Skip to 38:44 on episode one, R2 is lurking in the background

I’m betting that she’s the one who says ā€œrunā€.

Missed that, booze vision

Skip episode 1, nothing happens. It’s all shown in a 2 min recap at the start of episode 2. The Inquisitors seem pretty cool though, good to see Star Wars going true to form and getting rid of or underusing some interesting baddies like seeing the main inquisitor killed by a colleague.

ā€œGrittyā€ like Mandalorian or Boba Fett? Well it looks a lot of it takes place in the same main street again.

Star Wars in general looks great, but overall, the stories are dull, overstretched and completely overrated, nevermind some of the terrible acting and appalling script.

I’ve just realised that Luke is ten and the Inquisitors are running around Tatooine with lightsabers, chopping off hands and killing people, looking for Jedi with their own force powers, yet no-one ever mentions it around him in the next ten or so years.
As he has never heard of any of it when he goes looking for R2D2 and Old Ben finds them, I mean from no-one, not Jawas, droids they sell to his family over the years, any of his friends at Tosche Station (some that even went on to become Rebels) or their families, ect… yet a ten year old Leia already seems to know everything and talks about Jedi powers, ten years after Order 66, and they are in hiding … have they fucked the timeline for us again?

Perhaps Luke is a daft kid.

Ok, but here’s the thing. He isn’t dead.

I thought that move was an odd decision to make in this, as the Grand Inquisitor dies in Rebels (one of the animated shows) which is set after this.

But hey, if Maul can survive then anyone can… except for Qui-Gon!

I get the humour in the comment but the Jedi have been in hiding for ten years, since she was born… and out of all the posh, private schooled children, maybe you don’t want the daughter of one of the strongest force users, that you are hiding (like Luke), knowing too much about it!? Haha…

Good luck hiding that history from a society that has technology that gives kids personal flying robots let alone their version of the internet.

Also bets on that little flying robot being the must have drone toy for Xmas

Yeah, I mean it’s not like Han Solo doesn’t believe in the force, and thinks it’s just some old pokey religion, like the officer on the Death Star too that Vader force chokes… or Rey thinking it was all a myth (but knew about Han doing the Kessel run and she’d never even left Jakku!).
Anakin had heard stories of Jedi but never seen one. Luke and Mando had never even heard of the force or Jedi’s… because Star Wars is about The Force, a lot of the audience think there were loads of them, when in-fact they were very rare and not many people had actually met one…
There are no Jedi in Rouge One or A Solo Story (but Vader and Darth Maul, Sith’s. who are rarer than Jedi). When the Jedi go to rescue Obi-Wan, Anakin and PadmĆ©, Mace Windu says ā€˜Gather all the Jedi you can!’ … barley enough of them to fill a football field.

Jedi - Harry Potter/wizards and witches .

What kid doesn’t know about that.

Huh? Every kid that isn’t a wizard or witch in Harry Potter, Harry doesn’t know himself or his cousin…

I’m on about the myth and the stories that kids love at their age. Not the actual Harry Potter films as it’s own reality.

So you’re mixing reality with the fictional worlds? You’ve lost me… I mean I know who the Superheroes are like Bat-Man and Super-Man, because the books, comics and films let the audience in for the journey at the start… are you saying all fictional characters break the 4th wall and know too?

I’m saying as a child in a world full of all sorts of aliens and myths where the Jedi seem to now be this myth/god like people/force, children that hear about it would be naturally curious and inquisitive about it as children usually are with this sort of stuff .

Maybe, if there were tv, movie and book franchises about The Jedi in the same way we do (which there isn’t as the Sith run things most of the time in secret). It seems very word of mouth in that Universe. Which often doesn’t always travel far.

So you have the emperor’s feared inquisitors flying from planet to planet hunting down ghosts ? Think the word could get out

Ex-Jedi and the Force sensitive, nothing to do with being part of the Sith, as there are only ever two of them. The Emperor came up through the Senate to take over, as a Chancellor, not by using the Darkside. Staying hidden. Kill the Jedi, keep the Sith hidden. The Inquisitors are basically flying from planet to planet, not country to country. Mars to Jupiter, the moons of those planets, planets out of the Empires control, then just visiting one town or city on that planet, maybe a forest without anyone really being there or little tech, not stuck on one planet like we are. I’m just going from what the films themselves tell us.

edit: I’m also OD’ing on Lemsip as I have the worst flu… so might not be thinking straight, haha.
