I’m plugging a book.
Hope you’re going to make it to the Ormidale. If you like pints or whisky, anyway.
Cheers. The whisky is why we’re here, so will add that to the list.
Only have a couple days then on to Islay…
Playing a gig tonight.
Can’t remember what thread it was in but ordered some Insane strawberry stickers to recreate the rad reshape article deck. They sent extra stickers!
Got offered an interview for one of the jobs I applied for. Literally a 4 minute drive from my house which compared to my current 40+ minute drive would be a dream.
Downside is it’s short notice and 9am tomorrow. I’ve accepted and going to go. But not looking forward to calling my boss in the morning to blag I’ve got a doctor’s appointment for no apparent reason.
Trying to tell myself “fuck 'em, you come first” as much as possible!
Hit my first £100 month on bandcamp ![]()

Interview went well, really stoked on the company and role and got offered a second interview with the sales manager on the spot. Now to navigate getting another morning off next week…
Be sure to burn a fiver as a KLF tribute
Islay whisky is amazing stuff, what’s the island actually like to visit?
No fivers were burnt, though plenty of money was spent. Have some pretty expensive bottles stashed away now.
Islay was pretty special, we were staying in Port Ellen which is picture postcard stuff and right by the 3 distillery walk (Laphroaig, Lagavulin & Ardbeg).
The real eye opener was Arran though. Amazingly beautiful island that I already want to go back to (Lochranza is a great distillery too - way smaller than those on Islay that we visited).
My Mum was from Arran. My sister lives in Blackwaterfoot. It is beautiful.
Hopefully I’ll get back there with more time and the family in tow and see the whole island…
They torched the cash on Jura, but Arran has always been a bit of a place for mad things. Used to have raves on the beach down past Brodick, near the castle. Michael Fabricants always talk about it as being ‘Scotland in miniature’ because there’s every sort of landscape there that you’d find anywhere else in Scotland.
Also used to watch the sun set over it every night/afternoon for years, skating the blocks and steps of Prestwick beach. ![]()
Got a final interview for a new job that kind of came about as a payrise negotiation tool but may now be a good thing on its own
Dropped the kids of at school, went to vote in the local elections, a big deal i’ve been working on successfully went through at work, boss is WFH today so I’ve got the office to myself (early finish) and then i’m off up the Villa tonight for the Olympiacos game!
Went to a skate swap meet yesterday.
Managed to sell about £300 worth of stuff. As well as winning a Dremel in a raffle, and picked up a copy of Dysfunctional by Aaron Rose for about £5.
Also rad was skating to school to pick up my step son on one of my polarisers and having him ride it most of the way home and then having a little session around our cul de sac together instead of working.
I keep almost knocking one of these (or similar) up with leftovers & Google just found me a thread on Slap on the subject.
Now could be the time.
Do it. They’re honestly so much fun.
You definitely seem keen on yours!
I’ve had a scratch around and can put ‘something’ together.
To the shed..
