Stoked!

What’s the date

Went to the skatepark for a quick skate, ended skating for 2.5 hours non-stop with some mates and some other lovely chaps I didn’t know, felt sharp on my board, it was GREAT. Got the day off tomorrow so no Sunday blues. Gonna have the best eggs and avo on toast later. Yes.

Using some old SS20 contacts, have managed to blag 2026 Burton demo kit for a trip to some mega chalet in Merribal I’ve been invited to. Gassed, as now I don’t have to rent a load of shit, and get to ride an unreleased board for a week.

Turns out some mates were up for going in the end, but standing for London had sold out (apart from £600 vip), and the cheapest seats were £98 top row, furthest from stage, at which point you’re just squinting at the screen anyway. Best viable seats ‘close’ to stage were £145, good seats were £215. Absolute jokes.

I’m not paying £200 to see anyone of principle

yolo ennit

Godflesh are pretty tidy live, aye.

Where’d you see them mate? Didn’t know they were playing atm.

Scala in London.

It was a sell out gig, proper busy.

I saw Les Savy Fav there on Tuesday. It’s a great venue, really easy to see the stage.

Don’t think the security were too pleased though, having to babysit the singer as he roamed semi-naked through the crowd and tried to hang off the balcony

Did you guys listen to the latest episode of Mostly Skateboarding? Kalis is the definition of unfuckwitable.

His 30th anniversary boards look sick aswell, although less stoked on this blind bag semi gambling trend going on.

Can’t remember the subject but there was some indirect shots/ beef Kalis had with someone that was getting discussed on slap about 5 years ago.

He posted his phone number in the thread with a message to the tune of ‘I have a ten hour drive ahead of me today, call me and I’ll explain it all’.

A couple of slap posters said they called and shot the shit with him and he was a completely open book and stand up guy.

fucking love kalis and his mostly pod ep was a definite worth while listen, re opinions on jumping on better paid sponsors vs building a kalis ‘brand’ etc. seems completely aware of how the world he makes money in works and can navigate it as a successful pro, without shilling himself or being a corny ‘business-bro’

I think that was Berra the beef was with, aye.

Very slim chance I may have scored a work trip to Australia. Taking it all with a pinch of salt but better get the kettle on just in case @Snurp

Went to the premiere of the latest NB Euro piece ‘Still Kid’ at Welcome in Leeds this evening. Amazing skating from Dale Starkie, Dee Collins and Henry Fisher (his dad owns Al Carrer skate shop in BCN and also rips so generational skateboard DNA) amongst various others. Very good.
