This. A cheaper refurbished one would do as a starter… or just get a new one from Apple.
Yeah every recommendation I’ve had is for the the 2nd gen apple pencil, guess that’s the one then
I might be wrong on this, but just double check that the pencil and the software works on your existing iPad.
I’m pretty sure stuff like Procreate and Adobes software (Fresco) or Affinity only works on iPad Pros. How old is he - there may be less-professional, free software that’s just as useful.
I bought a refurbished pro during the pandemic, along with the pencil specifically because it didn’t seem to run on the standard ipad.
he’s turning 12 shortly and loves animation. he has a refurbished pro already and i work for adobe so he can use my account for the software. just trying to figure out what pen thingy is best
Procreate is really good, though I can find it a bit overwhelming with all the options. That seems to be the app most professionals use. Adobe Fresco is nice as well. David Hockney uses an app called Brushes Redux.
I’ve never used any of them for actual work; I find the endless undos mean I can never make a decision as to what is finished.
i swear i’ve talked about this multiple times on here and everytime people ask about discounts and i say i can get personal discounts but the products can’t then be used for commercial work
Mrs uses first ten iPad pencil for all her work. Depending on what iPad you have will depend on if you need 1st or 2nd gen pencil. The Apple pencils are far better than the knock off ones, although the Apple ones do seem replaceable because they can break and there isn’t a way to repair them sadly. She uses procreate for everything
Still not sure how the name ‘procreate’ managed to get approved
Sounds like it is easier to not run an ad blocker and get somewhat targeted but shitty adverts and skip them after a few seconds.
Im a heavy user of youtube and get served Dominoes pizza ads pretty much every video I open. Literally the same ad hundreds and hundreds of times over.
Interest in Dominoes pizza? None.
How many Dominoes pizzas have I purchased in the last I dunno…10 years? Also none.
I run YT ads as part of my job and they are very shit when it comes to really achieving anything.
I constantly get served the social ads I pay for. Over and over and over.
I guess I am the customer too, but the age range is wrong.
Not sure of my point - but the thought it costs me (well, the company) to get served our own ads is a bit annoying…
I think I get deliveroo on occasion but to be honest I don’t pay any attention to them.
Just had an unskipable Google ad and a Huel ad which I skipped after 5 seconds. That was from a Beard meats food video.
Tldr - I have more important things to be grumpy about.
Does your ad-blocker not work? I use the ad blocker that comes with Nord VPN and it doesn’t block the audio but it blocks the video of the ads.
works for me
I pay for YouTube premium but I have a few Google accounts and I regularly spend months at a time tutting at having to wait for ads to finish before I remember I am paying for YouTube premium and am logged in to the wrong profile.
Sounds like you’re retargeting yourself. I wouldn’t worry about it as it’s not going to be costing you much.
Iv been getting battered by pro Israeli YouTube ads at the moment
I’ve seen a couple people today have issues using Adblock Plus on Chrome, ublock on Firefox is still fine for me.
Been gifted a used 2017 MacBook Pro by a family member but can’t get hold of the specs of them. I’m not really into Macs so don’t know how their spec translates into Windows spec. I know there are always different specs each year but does anyone know what a Pro from that year might be spec-wise? Thanks
