You can search the serial number online to get the specific specs or check in the “about my mac section” in the main menu thingy. Could be i3, i5, i7 etc
FYI, my wife has a 2015 low spec macbook pro and it’s still more than decent enough to run stuff. Its an i3 and I’ve been using it for music software
Whether it’s adobe or a windows update, my Acrobat has decided to say our serial is invalid.
been spoiled over the years with a hooky copy It seems but now looking to get a proper version and you can’t get a full license anymore, you have to pay monthly. That’s crazy!
Anyone know how to avoid paying monthly and get a proper license?
Was running acrobat X pro. Tried a crack on it on the offchance but not having it.
ah, not even considered about an alternative. Had no idea there were so many options.
I have just been used to things just working and becoming complacent for years.
Will look into that ta.
If anyone uses alternatives and has any recommendations, that would be ace.
Honestly though, we don’t need most of the modern features, just need stadard editing, compiling, converting and print production options etc.
Click on the Apple in the top left corner
->About this mac
->Gives you a brief overview of processor, RAM, etc.
->System Report → Hardware → Power - to see how many charge cycles your battery has gone through. It might need a replacement, might not.
Sorry didn’t explain very well - I haven’t got the laptop yet and can’t get hold of the guy to get him to confirm the spec. So was trying to second guess what it might be. But will try your steps when I get it
Fuck it, it’s free/cheap. It’ll be fine for practically everything other than gaming or running a 4k display.
My laptop usually instantly grinds to a halt when I connect it to a 4k display, the kernel_task process goes mental and uses 500% of resources or something daft. Either that, or running a VPN to watch live to air football is the issue.
I think the i7 intels were the last Intel chips Apple used before switching to their own M1/M2 chips - so I think they’re at least comparable to the older M1chips (depending on generation).
16GB memory is fairly good as well - it’ll more than handle everyday use as well as some image or light video editing if you wanted to do that.
Just looking for a little advice, as this area isn’t really on my radar and I’d rather have first hand advice from over the hill skateboarders than googling. (although I did google a bit)
I basically want to buy two similar domain names that go to one simple website. I happy to pay for hosting/fees etc. I do not want to be registering domain names yearly.
I just want simplicity, longevity and a domain email address. I will add content occasionally but it will be simplistic.
I’m trying to set up a business for when my body can no longer do my current job. I appreciate any replies
Nah, literally a few pages with images showing what I/we do. I just want it as a contact point for me to gauge if my services are for them and then they can email/ring me.
Nothing being sold online. I will be a marine yacht surveyor and just want a reference point for people to check me out.
Just received delivery of a 2nd hand donated MacBook after 25 years of using GatesBooks.
It’s proper snazzy, the super soft clicky touchpad and keys feels like the sound of a Tesla reversing past me in Waitrose compared to a Fiat diesel screaming into the last parent/toddler space at Asda.
But it feels like going from a Nokia to an…iPhone. Are there guides for older mongs to find your way round them?
loads easier to use, less background processes but way less diverse. You use a Mac for the one thing you need it for, it won’t be anything else. Apple doesn’t like you being unfaithful so you stick with your one love and make it work.
