Reflecting on it all, it was a bit of anti-climax. Only a few skaters really skated well which was a shame.

ESPN is claiming the heat softened everyone’s bushings which I could see happening. It was over 30 degrees.

Ha ha. But you are totally wrong. Obviously.

So it’s a switch back 180 switch fakie nosegrind then? ok boomer.

You could have said ‘Caballerial Colin’, which still works and has the right trick name.

lol. What on earth are you on about you daft millennial?

It’s quite simply a Backside 180 Nosegrind, done switch.
So, switch backside 180 nosegrind.

Not even fucking about but what’s the proper trick name when you fakie Ollie into a “switch frontside nose slide”? I’ve seen people debating it on here before I think

Fakie backside tailslide, surely?

I hate the name of that one. Defies logic for me.

From 411 - a time before people got confused over trick names.

Yeah so that’s the response I thought would come but why is different in the refs/fakie scenario compared to nollie? The logic annoys me

Part of my thinking is you’re facing front to object you’re skating too. But then a fakie backside flip to me is actually frontside. Would love a solid answer on what’s right

Gabriel Rodriguez used to do them, and they’ve been called fakie back tails since then.

It’s a fakie back tail. I do em on the regs

Because skate trick names and rules around them were made up over a 40+ year period in the heat of the moment - mostly by teenagers- usually right after the very first time a trick has been made.

Whilst there are rules to naming skate tricks, those rules would never work for everything because of the above.

At this point, so long as you can get across the idea, who really gives a fuck?

I just called Les out because it was funny to me.

Street trick names are a hang-over from vert skating most of the time, no? It’s all about how you come out of the trick normally (not to fakie). Thats why you turn BS into a FS noseslide, it’s FS because you have to turn that way to ride away forwards.

Stoked for Yuto. I think Nigel would of been unbearable if he had got the first ever gold. Now I feel if he gets one in Paris he’ll have to be a bit more humble. It’s comical because he’s been walking around for at least two years like it was around his neck before he even turned up.

I was always told that frontside is frontside due to the way you approach the coping. Or ledge. That makes more sense than a FS180 out of a front nose to get back to normal…
