You have a habit of blurting out things without thinking about them. Or treating the forum like a personal Twitter account.
Questioning the extent of somebody’s mental health struggle is ridiculous. I’m glad everything’s going so well for you but things are often a bit more complicated for other people.
At the deepest points of depression/anxiety/breakdown, I could go out and do family things but would panic when it came to seeing a lot of friends.
I’d sit and work all day on a computer and chat online but picking up the phone suuuuuucked and being asked to arrange a face to face meeting was horrible.
I could go on a trip or shoot with a crew but shooting one on one with someone made me so anxious. And they’d feel it and think it was about them which I knew would happen and make it worse…
It’s horses for courses with mental health. As stated, (but I’ll use a slightly different example) it’s not like getting the flu where you have to write off everything for a period of time.
What is mental health vs what is stress. What can be dealt with by confronting it vs what can be dealt with by withdrawing from it.
There’s a whole load of unresearched, undiscussed and unknown shit in there so I think for someone like her to do this at such a high profile event and to raise it for discussion worldwide is good.
I hope they keep skating in. We can argue about the format and if it’s a sport or a culture etc but it’s too popular to not be in if the Games are meant to have an element of representing current sport. It’ll hopefully trigger more money for facilities and if it gets more kids buying boards that’s good for the industry.
I don’t think he will win it tbh. I think him and Corey Juneau are the most likely to go completely mental though…Corey is my favourite so I’m rooting for him 100%.
Very hard to work out who’s the favourite for the men’s park. They only really had one qualifier this year (Dew Tour). Zion won it but the Brazilians didn’t really compete in order to allow the US riders to battle it out for qualifying places. And also the topped ranked men’s rider - Heimana Reynolds - did not compete. Possibly carrying an injury?
