The Continually Updated Footage Thread

I don’t think anyone can say they wasted their peak years without being heavily mocked and laughed at. It would’ve been nice to see more of them in the last decade or so (especially Howard in my view) but I’m sure they have valid reasons.

The other thing is the way you see a growing number of older pros skate now like Reynolds, Chico, AVE or Daewon it does make you wish all older pros could be like that but it’s probably not too realistic and maybe even a bit greedy.

Howard and Carroll were doing the gnarliest, most progressive stuff when Reynolds and AVE were still groms, I’d say they’re from different generations.
Loving Chico’s low impact end of career, actually his best years in a way! Creager is less prolific but killing it on curbs too and he’s 48.

Yeah, tbh I was never too bothered about chico back in the day. Often felt he was doing the same tramline tricks - but now that’s what I want to see!

Oh yeah those two in particular are of a different generation certainly but it’s just that our expectations have changed dramatically. Not saying that means I’m demanding new footage of Howard now or insisting he longer has a pro board by anything.

Yeah knew what you meant and fully agree.

There are so many pros that I would have loved to see skate for long careers that dipped out for various reasons, I’m always happy to see those that stay in the game.

Still feel a sense of loss that no video footage from Natas’ 1991-2 era before breaking his ankle seems to exist.

Natas randomly showed up to Playstation skatepark when we were. This was probably 2001.
He was cruising and looking so good on a board.
I feel like had that injury happened now, he may not have dipped out so hard.

It would have been good to see him carry on and find out what he could bring to the table once things switched up again around '95ish.

I would have loved to see that. I guess he’d have gone down the more cruisey Jason Lee route but who knows.

I wonder if he still ever rolls around at all? I suspect not.

Really liked this! Will watch again.

This is a skateboarder called Bob Burnquist skating what is known as ‘transition’. It is part of Thrasher Magazine’s ‘Cold Call’ series:

Do you post these up before you’ve watched them?

Watched that Bob one and the sound is REALLY quiet.

Some of them, some I put up to remind me to watch later. I did watch this one, just couldn’t be fucked to write anything meaningful.

New Preston Harper section. Creative wheelies and rad lines on Portland crust. This guy is always fun to watch.

Me too. Probably insecurity but same.

Same here and I can’t separate the art from the artist when it comes to skateboarding so I ignore him.

That’s what I thought. When his face popped up on The Nine Club thumbnail my heart sank, but seeing that episode changed my mind about him.
