Still something about Berle that I don’t like, that’s probably unfair but I can’t help it. If I ignore that it’s him this part is Burly as hell, trouble is it’s Berly which is less cool.
And the trouble with that tune and many well known tunes is that they are so ingrained in peoples minds that it’s impossible for them to glue themselves to the footage. It’s always going to feel disjointed, like the footage has no music and you’re just listening to the tune on your stereo in your house etc. Never going to work.

Not sure but I think less well known tunes work so much better than well known. The old days where we are discovering so much music because of skate videos, that kinda dead now.
Footage being super clean and clear is hard enough to make look good and have feel and choosing music that won’t sit inside the footage makes parts less watchable.
Well known tunes could world in the past because of cinematic feel i.e. heath Sight unseen but if that part came out today it’d look less awesome.

Kinda thought it was meh and predictable. Obviously some good tricks but nothing surprising. Can’t have Berle and his ill fitting trou and greaser haircut as our soty.
Part was better than I expected, was expecting a 5050 snorefest.
Last trick nuts but as jimo said earlier, he should’ve switch bombed the lot.
Foy has been gently massaging and teasing me with footage nearly all year, delivering an impressive money shot.
Berle has given me the money shot with no foreplay.

Metallica are a weird one for me because I fanned on them when I was 13 onwards. Posters on wall and everything. When skating really took hold and other music came into play Black album was fairly cringey I lost interest in metal as it started to go weird.
I can still appreciate Ride/Master/Justice, still top tier metal but Kill em all has flipped into real cheese, all I could hear in seek and destroy is James singing sharp throughout.
Any Metallica after black album is the worst.

Megadeth (as cheesy as THEY are) hold the best Metal album for me, Rust in Piece. Obviously that’s because I play guitar. Reign in Blood would be up there for feel. Really standard classics I know but, they are there for a reason.
