Started building my first tank. Why are all the doors supposed to be glued shut? Wouldn’t it be cooler if they opened and closed on hinges?
Is there a realistic way to achieve this?

Two sororitas rhinos. Easier than I expected.
Gave up on the idea of making hinged doors.
Made one mistake of using a space marine front but added some religious bits and bobs to hide it.

Nah, enjoy that, I can’t justify that until I get back into model building again, might pick up a Tie and start slowly
It’s a slippery slope, they’re in the same scale though so it’ll make a nice set. Next I’ll just need to knock some walls through to make some space downstairs for the 1/72 Star Destroyer.
steer clear of The Replica Prop Forum if you’ve not already been there, the levels that people go to in the Studio Scale forum to recreate ships from the films is borderline autistic.

They are mostly (obviously not BB8, ect), 1970/80s originals by the look of it.

I’ve toyed with doing similar with my transformers collection. They are much bigger though so those particular shelves won’t work. Perfect for Staw wars though.
