Found a youtube channel of the horus heresy books 1-7 (so far) which has saved me a ton of money and strain reading the actual books. I dont know about anyone else but I find all black library books a proper brain sore to read. Authors must be paid by the word with bonuses for describing devastation and desolation.

Light and Magic on Disney is pretty good, at least the first series is, the history of ILM
They’ve just put up the 2 hour 30 minute doc that was an extra on early 2 thousand DVD’s Empire of Dreams, that’s a belter

Pretty stoked on tracking down this model. There’s a painting competition at my local warhammer shop in march and tempted to try and push myself to enter a diorama with this as the centrepiece.

Tried dry brushing areas…
I think things will look better when I add contrasts and shade.
Also all the metallics of the armour and weapons.
Not sure what colour for the skulls though?

What’s the link? I’ve tried reading some but I generally don’t enjoy reading fiction anyway, and found them hard going like you said. I thought they’d be full of big battles but it’s just pages and pages of waffle and space politics.

Kind of stoked on the colour I blended for the pile of skulls and the face details. Mighty fine brush and slow and steady hand movement.

I worked some details
Tried applying some flesh contrast but not very good with it.
Bit of contrast shading helped the skulls though and quite stoked on the rich mahogany I mixed as the base for the plinth. Flame is alright too.
Plenty more to go…
I like the shiny metal highlights. That’s a pretty gnarly claw.
