Anyone watched the Interview with the Vampire series? All the episodes are on iPlayer and blew me away. An incredible camp, queer, gothic horror story with perfect pacing and no filler. Probably some of the best writing on TV right now, very luxurious and eloquent.
I believe they’re making more seasons but the two seasons out cover the book ‘Interview with the Vampire’ so work well as a standalone 14 episode piece.
Also finally got around to watching Scavengers Reign on Netflix which was mind blowing. Top tier sci fi with beautiful animation and a mature story, the world building was like nothing else and almost felt like an alien wildlife show in parts.
didn’t even know this existed. absolutely loved Anne Rice’s books. quite liked the original film. hated the subsequent film (although fun soundtrack).
will have to give this a go fo sho

Yeah I like the 90s film as a bit of camp fun but this is a whole other beast, a near perfect 14 episodes of TV. Definitely check it out, let me know what you reckon. Anne Rice is Exec Producer on this too!

Stoked. Looks like they’ve green lit the next seasons which will cover the vampire lestat (which is a much bigger and better book anyway)
For some reason I thought she had died like twenty years ago but apparently it was only 2021

I’m not sure if this has been discussed but oh my days is ‘Scavengers Reign’ is so good. One the only Sci fi shows where the planet actually feels alien.

I liked the black goo bit re the murder/rebirth of Sauron but the acting as a whole is far too melodramatic and the elves are embarrassing

Is it close to the lore? I heard they couldn’t use certain characters or names as the rights are with Warner bros and lord of the rings films ?

not at all. the mad Tolkien fans on reddit hate rings of power because the timelines don’t work. Galadriel is meant to be much older than Elrond for example.
i love fantasy shows / movies / books and i enjoy it as a Tolkien fantasy. couldn’t care less if the stories match up but i guess some people feel really strongly about these things
Ha blimey , gonna be interesting when the new Harry Potter series comes out and see how close to the books they stick . That’s one load of fans who will be going bonkers if not .
my wife is a massive harry potter fan and she’s really looking forward to the new HP stuff. word is that they have (again) decided to go for an all British cast and it’s meant to be much closer to the books
my only gripe with the original movies is that a lot of the (massive) backstory for Voldemort and Dumbledore is left out of the movies. having more context for wizard hitler would be kind of cool
all of this is obviously overshadowed by how much of a massive Michael Fabricant JK Rowling is now

Also watched Outlast about a load of yanks dropped off and left to survive Alaska for a couple weeks and share 1 million cash prize. Good reality TV. Some of the guys in it looked comfortable living the outdoor life.
Yeah absolutely popcorn to see how this is handled. It’s one hell of a plate spinning job across all aspects.
Hopefully it’s made at leavesden studios up the road from me and my boss gets the props . Fucking job for years that .
