Does it pick up? We tried the first episode and it was slow and not that interesting. Will continue but hoping for more of a story

Yeah it does, bit scatty at times but worth a watch

What’s that?

My favourite skate video is Mixtape

Watched that, what a ripoff, Vinny Ponte never even showed up once

Watched the first episode of alien earth last night. Thought it was good.

Yeah same, definitely bodes well for the rest of the series. I’m hoping they don’t hold back on the horror aspect of Aliens just because it’s Disney, but I trust Noah Hawley to strike the right balance - was a big fan of his previous series Legion.

I watched ep1 & 2…
Ep 2 felt like it was 5 mins long. It flew by.

And yes, its horror.

It’s really good to see the whole Alien universe in such a relatable setting.
I really loved it.

only managed episode 1 last night, but my that was good stuff,

sinister acting androids/synths/whatever they are, full on xenomorph and weird alien bugs and stuff. I like the expansion of the “companies” as well. bonus Vivian as well, he keeps popping up where you don’t expect him

Err it’s Vyvyan, not Vivian

Spell it correctly or his mum, Mrs Vyvyan, will get angry

“Are you coming Mike, or are you still talking to that old bag about your herpes?”

I knew when I was typing it I was probably spelling it wrong.

Just had an in-depth chat with a guy at work trying to work out the Weyland Yutani timeline and how could the ship be a WY ship when WY didn’t exist till after Prometheus but the ship that crashed was on a 65 year mission, 30 years before Prometheus.

He said “they probably just sent them a message to tell them of the company takeover with attached new logo Jpegs and told them to print stickers, gave the android something to do while wandering around perving over the young lass”

It’s not been a busy day so far

I always thought it was implied, if not set in stone cannon, that Alien was the same universe as Blade Runner.

This would have been a good opportunity to bring in Tyrell Corp as one of the competing companies, but I suppose they would have had to make earth look as bleak as it is in BR and factor in the global wipe event, in order to mesh the timelines. I wonder if they ever considered it.

I suppose we’ve not seen north america yet, and Tyrell was taken over by Wallace Corp when it went bankrupt after the wipe. I think Tyrell was in the Alien universe as far back as Aliens

The big guns used at the beginning of episode 1 of Firefly were Weyland Yutani, the logo is in the gun sight

I need to get myself a hobby, my wife says I could bore people out of comas with the weird knowledge I have about sci-fi films, probably just to tell me to shut up

Alien: Earth episode 2 was great, really enjoying this and if it sticks to this level of quality it’s going to be the Xenomorph on earth series the comic gave us a glimpse into years ago

The party scene with the twats in the powdered wigs was great, gave a real sense of how quickly the xenos can fuck shit up. The guy crawling across the floor was horrific
