With regards to Stranger Things - It’s not made for me.
Watched the finale last night with the missus, it was alright. It did suffer from the habit that a lot of these multi series shows suffer from, the 20 minute epilogue where the cast get to tell each other how much they’ll miss all this while weirdly in character. Sopranos did it correctly.
Oh, and they should really have used The Trooper during the Mindflayer fight
Listening to people say they’ve finished watching stranger things is like listening to someone say they’ve run their first marathon. It’s a celebration of sorts but one that came at a price.
When I realised there was 4 more fucking hours to go last night I groaned. 3 more hours now…Certain scenes I just fell asleep as I don’t give a shit about most of the characters. As per my minimal input in this thread, I just don’t watch much TV so spending hours sat on my arse just feels counter-productive.
Its OK. Waaay overhyped though. The kids were really annoying in the mid-series teen years.
And whatever squawkbox I heard playing that Kate Bush song from now on is getting smashed
I did it. Self props for seeing it through. In hindsight it wasn’t all that bad. Felt very long winded. First thing I’ve watched from start to finish with my daughter. She really enjoyed the whole show and I think Wills little speech stoked her out, she shouted it out before I got it lol
The Wheelers’ dad being disappeared after the early episode was actually the most annoying thing. Closed alright but the last hour felt like the end of LOTR: ROTK
If you’re into slow burn thrillers where a couple of victims get their awesome dues on a spiteful bunch of entitled fabricants then I highly recommend The Glory on Netflix. South Korean mastery.
On the point of Stranger Things, people are throwing around theories on the t’internet that the last episode was not the last episode, and I have to say they are quite compelling
If this turned out to be true then it might make it one of the greatest endings they could have done
I’ve ended up fully sold on this which is absolutely delusional but the evidence is very strong for it. Will be glad when the weeks over, it doesn’t happen and I can let it go.
They have the chance to do the coolest thing on TV for a long time, but, I honestly believe that the ending was just poorly written and executed and riddled with plotholes.
Lego kills me, the smaller bits I have bought I really enjoy and genuinely find it relaxes me so much. But I find it so hard to justify the price of the bigger sets, even though I know I really want them and will really enjoy building them.
Get them, make them, enjoy them, sell them on. Think of all the money you’d spend pissing beer up the pub wall and stay home and make Lego. Enjoy yourself.
