Ff7 remake is so so different visually and in the game mechanics. Yes it’s buying hard into the nostalgia but it’s a different game
Quite pleased with myself after finally completing the original ff7 twenty odd years after first playing it and re-buying it several times over the years. Also I’m not ashamed to say I cheated all the way through. Otherwise I’d just lose interest again.

I completed it last week. Always a bit surprised at how slightly dogshit the ending FMVs are.
Remember to watch all the way through the credits though for Red XIII fun.
Still the best game ever though.

I don’t play many video games but I’m bored as fuck and I loved these so I’m up for a bit of nostalgia.
Should probably get a playstation so I can play MGS again and try death stranding.
Unless @nazoreth convinces me to get an Xbox.

They released a THPS HD years ago and it was shit. Skaters were out of proportion to the landscape and all tricks looked stinking.

Session on early access is really good. My computer doesn’t have the right specs but I’m playing it through Nvidia Geforce Now. I was virtually skating the Brooklyn banks earlier, which was a lot of fun. There are lots of modded maps, so I’ve seen you can skate MACBA amongst other cool spots. I’ll have to look more into that. It’s more on the sim side, well as much as a skate game can be, which takes some getting used to. The only annoying thing is it seems too twitchy when carving so it’s hard to setup for tricks.

As well as this I’ve also just had a look at the old levels you can unlock in the later games and you can pretty much play most of the old levels from 1 and 2 with the revert added if you have the THUG games and American Wasteland:
Yeah I remember a few later games had the older levels. THUG 2 had a good love park.

Had Cardiel, Daewon and others and had PSSP as a level. If I remember right, it was the first layout of PSSP
Finally caved and signed up for PS Now…
I did it as my daughter is enjoying video games but her hands are too small for the controller, so using a joystick works wonders. But all I had for the joystick was Streetfighter, and I’m not letting her play that (yet).
Theres a ton of old, simple arcade games on there which is great.
I’m enjoying “Control” as I missed that when it came out. Weird but fun, so far.

skate games pre EA skate is all well and good but post? nah, it’ll get gamers playing but not many skaters.
Session is quality, I imagine a lot of skaters will playing that. It’s definitely worth a go. I’ve heard Skater XL has the potential to be good too.
sorry, when I said skate games pre skate, I meant those same style of games after skaters have had the taste of skate, XL etc will be pointless.

Have to admit, the prospect of Session and Skater XL is tempting me to finally move to the current generation. Along with a load of other stuff but it might just be the tipping point.
Ah, yh, I agree, THPS is too easy and unrealistic after playing games like skate 3, session and XL. There’s some nostalgia value I guess though.
