Her left knee looked abnormally bent inwards when she went airborne. Unless that was her knee brace bulging?
Looks like she might have blasted both knees in the tumble. Must be real bad if they’re still trying to help her.
Nearly all the skiers were struggling on that gate.
It’s actually a good she crashed right at the start i guess. If she made another couple of turns she could be dead.
Fuck knows what state she’s in. Getting helicoptered off in a body bag is pretty fucking gnarly.
Glad I’m not watching! The commentators seemed to be impressed that she was going to go ahead whilst carrying that injury yesterday.
Just saw that all unfold too, sat watching and my daughter walked past so I got her to watch with me literally right when Vonn was setting off then bang. Safe to say she’s never going to take up downhill ski racing. I’ve snapped an ACL and going for it down there seems like madness, though. It’s not painful especially but you just lose so much stability in your knee. But I guess it was her last chance. Hope she’s okay anyway.

I dont know. Maybe when they started to spin more and more. It really is a case of spin to win. I watched the ladies qualifiers last night and one girl did a cool sort of double backflip but opened up on the second rotation. Not sure if it was intentional because she sort of lost control and belly flopped.
Still really impressive to see the ladies go just as buck as the men. Drop in of doom to fly 60 feet, land and smile for the cameras. Kind of crazy.

That’s exactly what I said to my lass. A nice fat Method would be loads better. She looked at me with complete disinterest.

Chinese girl is currently winning because she did pretty big spins at the bottom but was messy on all the rails. Feels dodgy.
Also…does anyone know why they have poles? They only seem to be getting in their way and adding nothing.
Ah no the British girl absolutely nailed the rail section (wayyyy better than everyone else) but fucked the big jumps.
Has to have 2 good runs back to back.
Edit: actually just best run counts. She has 1 more chance to get bronze. Silver and gold seem well out of reach.

To learn snowboarding you have to fucking - buy the boots, buy the snowboard, buy the clothes, buy a lift pass.
That’s $200 just to get up to the snow! Then you’ve got gas, food..
So you’ve got to be semi of means to even kick start the sport, you know what I mean?
So it’s kinda like, when you’re around all these dues that are professional at it and they’re like “yeah i fucking grew up in Aspen!” or whatever.
Snowboarders don’t know no fucking hard times.
